For the Person Who Has Everything

For the Person Who Has Everything

This Christmas, what can we get for the Person who has everything? No, I’m not giving you shopping advice. And I’m sure you know the answer to this question of the one thing we can give God. But often we need these simple reminders.

He wants us—you, me, and everyone in the world around us.

For the Person who has everything

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 1For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

John 3:16-17 NASB

For the Person Who Has Everything—Except Your Neighbor

I’m humbled by some friends who listened to God and felt led to bless my family this Christmas. It’s so thoughtful and wonderful and reminds me to also ask Jesus to burden my heart to bless and show His love.

Maybe to someone who doesn’t know Him as their Lord? Whether they’ve come to the wrong conclusion about God, He’s off their radar, or they’re hostile at the thought of Him. He didn’t send His Son to condemn them, but to save them.

This time of year is a great opportunity to love our neighbors with the love He first showed us.

For the Person Who Has Everything—and Gave it All

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
Though He was God,
He did not think of equality with God
    as something to cling to.
Instead, He gave up His divine privileges;
He took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When He appeared in human form,
He humbled Himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor
and gave Him the name above all other names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Philipians 2:5-11 NLT

What can we give Jesus for His birthday (yes, I know He wasn’t really born in December)? We can follow His example. Though He had everything, He gave it all to pour out His love upon us.

We should also lay down our lives for Him. The best gift we give God is ourselves. The devotion of bent knee and declaring tongue, Jesus Christ is Lord—in every area of our life—for the person who has everything.

Merry Christmas, y’all!
